Good food and good drinks, solid spot for a hang out or for a date. Loved my drink, #16 on the menu (forgot the name 😆). Fries were delicious but the real star are the wings. You can't go wrong with guac.

Been here plenty of times for just cocktails but saw an ad on IG that they have a Prime Rib dinner special on Tuesdays. Usually I’m wary of these random food specials but the wife and I decided to just give it a shot. Pretty solid prime rib with au jus and horseradish, mashed potatoes, and corn. You do have to buy a drink with the meal but that’s not an issue being that you’re at a craft bar, so there’s great options. We’ll be back.

It's just one of those places I loved immediately. The underatanted outside. No words, just the paper plane LED. Even the bouncer was friendly, asking if it was my first time and giving me a lay of the land. Open seating. Order from the bar, have a good time. Lively, but not packed after 10pm. Got a seat at the bar. Immediately greeted by David. Knowledgeable recommendations. Very efficient with his guests and pouring. Janae/Janay/Jenae kicked it up a notch. Knows her stuff. Great tour of the bar. Food was prompt and simple and quality and delicious, even a bit late. Great vibe. Great selection. Not even done with my food and had to give the shout out!

Finally visited this place and was not disappointed. The cocktails and the finger food were great! They have a limited menu and limited veg options but whatever options were there were great. One has to order at the bar and it's mostly self serve except food. The place can get pretty crowded during weekends. We ordered almost everything from the food menu and really liked the shrimp tacos / al pastor baos/ mushroom empanadas.

Paper Plane is an amazing spot for a late-night hangout in downtown San Jose! If you’re looking for great drinks, good food, and a lively atmosphere, this place checks all the boxes. I recently stopped by with friends, and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The cocktails here are next-level—creative, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The bartenders clearly know their craft, and the menu offers a wide variety of options, from classics with a twist to fun, unique concoctions you won’t find anywhere else. The food was equally impressive—perfect for sharing and exactly what you want when you’re out for a night of good drinks and conversations. Service was another highlight. Despite how busy it was, the staff was quick, friendly, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. It made the whole experience even better. The vibe at Paper Plane is perfect for both small groups and larger gatherings. It’s lively without being overwhelming, and the seating setup makes it easy to relax and enjoy the night. 2025.12.11, Thursday at 5:45PM Quite empty when its first opened at 530PM. Then the crowd comes 😅 ordered: Dancing Sugarplums-$17.95, Chips & Dip-$14.00, Christmapolitan-$17.95, tipped 20%, out the door total was $66. If you like sweeter cocktails, these are excellent recommendations! My only complaint was the size of the drink. It was like 8oz…? LOL for $18?!?! Service is always amazing so I appreciate that! Drinks are not as strong as haberdasher which I prefer! Great Christmas environment, I wished I visited during Halloween too! Next year :) 2025.06.05, Thursday at 6PM. Nearly empty which is nice. Ordered bean sprouts taco and truffle fries and one cocktail for total of $52. Had a quick conversation with the bartender about Thailand. They have a guide menu so you have an idea of what you’re getting yourself into.

Solid cocktail bar! Went on a Wednesday night so it was a bit empty but crowded at the bar. Had several cocktails there and all tasted great. Tried one of their special cocktails (had gochujang in it) which I wasn’t a huge fan of but the old fashioned was tasty. The bartender was super friendly and made sure everyone had a drink.

Another great bar in the San Jose cocktail scene. They have great drinks on the regular some of which have an Asian influence. The bar menu here is also great and the koji fried chicken is a must try. They are super addicting and go great with the drinks. A must try at Paper Plane is the Ring of Fire, which is like a whiskey sour with extra depth of complexity. It’s also awesome to visit during Christmas time when they have the Miracle pop up. They go hard with the Christmas decorations and the drinks are pretty good! Most of pop-up drinks are on the sweeter side though. Love this bar, must try if you’re in the area.

Visited in December specifically for their Miracle holiday pop up bar. The place is decked out from head to toe in holiday cheer with blow up santas and gingerbread men, hanging stockings, wreaths, and snowflakes, and lights and tinsel strewn everywhere. A bit of a wait on a Saturday to get in around 7:30pm but the line moved fairly quickly. We ordered the koala lalala and the one that came in the Santa trex mug, which I think might have been Rudolph's replacement. Drinks were quite good and it was nice that each one was served in a fun mug! They have quite a bit of space though people tend to congregate near the front so it's best to head towards the back if you're looking for seating.
